The Kings needed Rudy the Iron Man last Friday in Phoenix, when Cousins fouled out late in the fourth quarter of a game that eventually went to double overtime. Sacramento doesn’t boast a terribly deep rotation, so they need a secondary scorer to soak up big minutes in case Boogie runs afoul of the refs. Cousins’ lone weakness this season has been his propensity for foul trouble. The difference in minutes played reveals a great deal of Gay’s value to this team.
